Energy Audits

What Is An Energy Audit?

The equipment on your pool may be the largest user of electrical energy at your home. It can also be the most wasteful. Many pool systems in the Mid-South are wasting hundreds of dollars each year in electrical costs due to inefficient, energy-hogging equipment and poor hydraulic design.

An energy audit will earn you more than $120 extra a year in energy cost savings, paying for itself in less than 24 months of operation!

We have a solution - a MEMPHIS POOL Energy Audit. A detailed analysis is performed concerning the effectiveness and proper sizing of your pool equipment by our highly trained MEMPHIS POOL service technicians. It's a simple way to identify wasteful design and equipment and then recommend changes in which the energy savings will easily pay for the costs, with savings for your pocket!

Is It Right For My Pool?

If your pool meets ANY of the following conditions, then it's a prime candidate for an energy audit:

  1. Your filter pressure runs at 20# or higher
  2. You have a square lid pump. These pumps do not offer good water flow for the energy consumed.
  3. Your pump is 10 years or older.
  4. You have a pump that is 1-1/2 HP or greater. Bigger isn't necessarily better. Many pools use pumps with horsepower much greater than that needed to properly filter the water.
  5. You have a pool that has only 1 return inlet (as found on many one-piece fiberglass pools).

What Does Memphis Pool Check For?

Case Studies

Germantown, TN – 17,000 Gal. Pool. This customer
was spending $103.55 a month in electricity to run an
oversized, inefficient pool pump. We replaced it with our energy efficient Whisperflo pump. This reduced the electrical cost by $49.71 per month. That's a savings of over $596 in just 12 months of operation, repaying itself in only 16 months.

Cordova, TN – 13,500 Gal. Pool. This Cordova customer replaced his Hayward with our Whisperflo pump without reducing the flow needed for filtration, reducing his electrical bill from $105.97 to $53.64 per month. This is a savings of $52.33 per month, which repaid His investment in just 15 months.

Olive Branch, MS – 17,000 Gal. Pool. We replaced a pump with a smaller horsepower Whisperflo, while keeping the necessary flow for maximum filtration. The electrical costs were reduced from $172.14 to $67.22 per month, paying for itself in 8 months!

  • Energy-wasting motors
  • Improperly sized pumps for the pool's plumbing hydraulics
  • Pumps with poor flow for the energy consumed
  • Unnecessary hydraulic restrictions
  • Improperly sized filters and valves

After our audit, we run a detailed report, which we then share with you. If we find inefficiencies, we will configure equipment changes designed to save you energy dollars. We will show you the details of the cost-effectiveness of the recommend changes, helping you make an informed decision.

What's The Cost?

An energy audit is only $69. Costs to make the energy improvements to your system are often paid for in energy savings in 6-24 months. We're so convinced the energy audit will save you money that we guarantee the following:

  • Your energy savings will be at least $ 120 a year
  • The energy savings will pay for the initial investment in less than 24 months of operation.
  • If not, your Energy Audit is FREE!
